Black Hills Off-Road Rentals offers a good staging area for snowmobiling. You can rent machines here or just park and ride. Follow Trail #7 heading west towards Lead. All snowmobiles must be properly licensed and insured. Permits are also required and available to purchase at the Black Hills Trails Office.
